About Taste of Science Events

Taste of Science events are designed to increase promotion and engagement of scientists who support public appreciation and awareness of how science works, who scientists are, and why science matters.

Organizations challenging themselves in developing such events aim to improve the public perception of science, and engagement with science. They also do this to increase public visibility of their own research and achievements.

Taste of Science events encourage research scientists and PhD students to undergo science communication and dialogue with a broader audience, such as media people, the public or the industry.

We do this through informal receptions at restaurants. We experiment creative linking between research and especially designed menus. In this way, we "force" scientists to re-frame their technical form into a non-scientific form of communication. With a strong creative component.
